NGOBAD - RHINO TALK

An Effort to Raise Awareness of Javan Rhino Conservation in Banten
Banyu Biru Labuan, January 30th, 2026 – Forest Keeper, a movement dedicated to Javan rhino conservation, held a "Ngobad" ( Javan Rhinos Talk)  in Banyu Biru village Labuan, Pandeglang, Banten .
This even was a collaboration between CAN (Cerita Alam Nusantara) and the Ofora Trust Foundation, supported by Pelorus foundation with the aim of raising public awareness about the importance of preserving the Javan rhinoceros in Banten, a world heritage site.

Forest Keeper, consisting of Tika Heliana, Arief Zul Permana, Bogie Agustine, Chika Hendarin, Dwi Kristiyono, Ricky Rianto, Ofat, Kang Kmod, Ade Hikmat, and Kisunda, has long been involved in efforts and programs for Javan rhino conservation.
Ngobad, which is a casual chat sharing knowledge, experiences and interactive talk shows as well as fun games with prizes, was attended by students from SMKN 3 Pandeglang and presenting speakers from local community who are experienced in managing the Javan Rhino habitat, population management through the installation of video trap cameras and security patrols, this ngobad was also attended by Mr. Simon from Big 5 Protection - England as one of the speakers.

The Ngobad event is supported by The Pelorus Foundation - England, one of our conservation partners, which will continue to support the Javan Rhino conservation program. "We believe that collaboration and public awareness are key to protecting critically endangered species like the Javan Rhino," said Arief Zul Permana, Chairman of Cerita Alam Nusantara (CAN).
Ofat, who is also the Chairman of the OFORA Trust Foundation, added that this Ngobad activity will continue to be held in various locations, with participants from various communities and students, to foster awareness of Javan rhino conservation. This event provides an opportunity to become a Forest Keeper—a good start for Javan rhino conservation, preserving the Javan rhino, and preserving the future.
